Shoe chain Clarks has chosen PinkRoccade to install a new Chip and PIN system.
PinkRoccade won the Chip and PIN contract after running Clarks' PC replacement project successfully.
Clarks retail services manager Alistair Smith said: 'They (PinkRoccade) are our main retail IT supplier, they know their way around our system and did a great job replacing our PCs last year.'
The system will also offer far better report creation. Smith said reports were not only created more quickly, but offered more in-depth information.
Smith said: 'It will offer better store reporting, quicker and more advanced analysis of instore data, the kind of information that only head office had access to before. Now everyone can access it.'
Smith believes staff will need training, not to use the internal system, but to deal with queries. He said: 'Staff will be in the firing line to educate the public about these cards - that will be the hard thing.'
