Scrivens acquired the seven-strong optician chain for an undisclosed sum. It plans to expand its range of glasses to include designer brands and introduce its hearing care service into all Eye Check branches at Loughborough, Leicester, Wigston, Cotgrave and Ashby de la Zouch.
In 2002, the company acquired 40 stores from Dorset-based Melson Wingate opticians, followed by a number of smaller independents.
Scrivens managing director Nicholas Georgevic said: 'Eye Care is an excellent business and we have acquired seven great locations, providing us with further penetration into the East Midlands.'
