Spar has become the latest retailer to introduce Amazon collection lockers in-store.
Amazon Lockers, which allow customers to pick up or return their Amazon orders at stores, have opened at nine of the grocery retailer’s stores, including locations Bannerbrook, Broomhill, Grantham and St Albans. It said it would introduce further lockers in the future.
Spar UK retail development controller Barry Wallis said: “This is a highly innovative move from Spar UK, showing our commitment to launching the latest technologies that provide the best possible convenience to shoppers.”
Amazon has installed lockers in a number of retailers - including convenience chain Martin McColl and The Co-op - as well as shopping centres and office blocks.
Wallis said in recent months the retailer had introduced mobile phone charging units and free Wi-Fi in its stores.
“This is the next step in making our stores even more service-friendly,” he added.
