Sportswear giant Nike has secured the former Victoria’s Secret premises at the Trinity Leeds shopping centre for its newest flagship, Retail Week can reveal.
Property retail group Landsec told Retail Week the new 10,000 sq ft store is anticipated to open to customers next year.
The new Nike Rise concept flagship store is intended to boost shopping experiences for customers through innovative digital experiences and services that “enliven the sporting pulse of the city”.
The store will also offer Nike’s personalisation service ‘Nike by You’ as well as a digitally powered ‘Footwear Fastlane’, sharing footwear product information and stories with shoppers.
Nike follows other retailers that have opened or relocated to Trinity Leeds this year including fashion favourites Zara, Lounge and Mango.
Landsec head of brand account management Nik Porter said: “Guests are looking for more from their shopping experience and are seeking out concepts which combine convenience with the opportunity to try something new.
“As a result, brands are increasingly prioritising prime locations that drive footfall, enable customer service and have the ability to integrate in-store and online shopping experiences.
“The Nike Rise concept encapsulates this and, with more international brands investing in Leeds, the new store will only enhance the city’s retail offer further.”
