Value fashion retailer Internaçionale is to replace its EPoS system as it begins converting the 85 MK One shops it bought out of administration last year.
The retailer is investing £1.3m in the system, from Prologic, which is to be rolled out across its existing stores and the MK One shops.
Internaçionale began installing touchscreen EPoS units running version 7 of Prologic’s CIMS EPoS system in the MK One stores last month.
The technology refresh will run until the end of June, at which time the retailer will start to upgrade its Internaçionale stores, which run version 6 of the system at present.
The retailer expects the investment to increase the speed at which it can serve customers, and the new system complies with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard.
Staff will also have access to Google Apps from the EPoS terminals. Internaçionale finance director David Milton said: “The back office functionality of the new EPoS terminals will bring huge time and cost savings to the business.
“Having staff on the shopfloor to assist customers and increase sales is core to any retail business and by utilising the Google Apps functionality, the amount of time our staff spend away from customers and the shopfloor will be dramatically reduced.”
