Toy retailer The Entertainer is to localise its promotions and slash the time taken to roll out special offers to stores with the introduction of a signage system and
mobile printers.
The Episys Retail Enterprise Suite application will allow the retailer’s head office to set promotions, distribute point-of-sale material to stores for printing and manage the promotions in the retailer’s EPoS system.
The roll-out will begin with a trial in six stores this month and The Entertainer expects to extend this to all its stores in time for its Christmas peak trading.
The Entertainer network manager Lewis Graham said that at the moment the retailer can only run promotions across all stores.
By being able to run different promotions in different parts of its estate the retailer expects to improve sales and margins.
Graham said that The Entertainer has always been deal driven and will buy products specifically for promotions. But this is invariably a time-consuming process, which can take up to seven days to put a special offer live. The Entertainer will be able to make special offers live within a day once the Episys system is running.
The system will also put an end to stores creating their own signage and ticketing.
