Currys and PC World is to launch a trolley of gadget gifts which will be sold aboard East Midlands Trains service from tomorrow for commuters looking for last minute presents.
Passengers on the London St Pancras to Nottingham route will be able to purchase gifts such as iPads, Beats headphones and the new Paperwhite Kindle on the trolley, as well as holiday essentials such as spare batteries and memory cards.
If successful the trail could be built upon next year, according to the retailers’ owner Dixons.
Tablets, which has been Currys and PC World’s top seller this year, are featured heavily on the trolley with the new iPad, iPad Mini and Google Nexus 7 in stock.
The retailer, which sold a tablet every second on Cyber Monday, predicts it will sell a device every two seconds between now and Christmas.
The trolley also features stocking fillers such as ‘hear muffs’ - earmuff headphones - iPad cases and iPod nanos.
Currys and PC World ecommerce and multichannel director Jeremy Fennell said: “We are always looking to innovate, and do everything we can to make our customers’ shopping experience more convenient.
“The Currys and PC World gift trolley offers total convenience at a particularly stressful time of the year for shopping. In store, online, on mobile and now on board a train, we’re making this Christmas even easier for our customers.”
