BrightHouse has strengthened its management team with the appointment of Simon Mouncer as head of business change and IT.

He will report directly to BrightHouse finance director Giles David and will be responsible for nurturing the high degree of business change that the retailer is undergoing.

Mouncer will also oversee some major changes to the BrightHouse IT systems in 2009, including an upgrade to the main point-of-sale (POS) system.

Mouncer was previously head of commercial finance at BrightHouse. Prior to this he was head of finance for the business change programme at Marks and Spencer. His other roles within M&S included head of finance for the group IT function.

Commenting on the appointment, Giles David said: “Simon’s impressive track record in finance and IT has contributed significantly to our financial performance during the past year. His experience and focus will be invaluable in driving successful business change and development, the foundation for the company’s continued pursuit of growth.”
