The first, in Cambridge, opened last week and a further three are due to follow.
There will be two openings in London – one on Lime Street in the City and one in Holborn – as well as a store in Manchester.
The retailer recently announced a like-for-like sales increase of 12.1 per cent for the year to August 2, prompting a further push for expansion.
Charles Tyrwhitt owner and founder Nick Wheeler said: “No matter what the economic weather, people still need to wear a shirt and tie.”
Wheeler – whose middle names are Charles Tyrwhitt – set up the business as a purely mail order venture from his university bedroom in Bristol.
It has grown into a multinational chain and mail order business with just short of half a million customers and annual sales of about£50 million.
In January, Wheeler announced that he was planning to float a portion of the company on AIM to fund expansion plans, but in February scrapped the move in favour of finding a private equity partner.
The latest store signings take the retailer’s UK total to 14, which Wheeler wants to eventually increase to 50.
Charles Tyrwhitt also has international stores in New York, Paris, Kuwait, Spain and Singapore.
