The sudden death of pop legend Michael Jackson has prompted a surge in sales of his albums.

Jackson titles such as Thriller accounted for all top 10 slots in online giant Amazon’s music bestseller list this morning, with Off the Wall topping the list.

Entertainment retailers have acted swiftly to promote Jackson’s albums since news of his death from a heart attack broke last night.

HMV, for instance, has devoted the entirety of the music section on its home page to Jackson albums.

Music stores have reported a run on the entertainer’s albums and some are likely to run out of his product during the day.
