The Very Group plans to reshuffle its retail team following the appointment of former Fenwick chief executive Robbie Feather as managing director of retail.
The Very Group will change its existing category management structure, streamlining its existing four category teams of fashion, electrical, developing categories and home into two.
Fashion, sports, leisure and home will become the first of the new categories and will be led by Sam Wright, who is currently retail commercial director.
The second category, which will focus on electricals, beauty, toys and gifts, will be led by electricals category director Victoria Aldrich.
Very will also create a retail operations team with home category director Mike Wheeler at the helm as retailers continue to tackle supply chain challenges. This division will focus on the management of stock, availability and suppliers.
Developing categories director Jeremy Stevens and fashion director Emma Alexander will leave the business.
News of the reshuffle follows the appointment of Feather, who joined The Very Group as retail managing director in November.
Retail Week understands these changes to the team structure will have no immediate impact on jobs within the organisation.
A spokesperson for The Very Group said: “Building on the success of our category management approach, we’re reorganising our retail team to make it even simpler and more efficient, and to give our customers an even better experience.
“To do that, we’re combining our four category teams into two: fashion, sports, leisure and home; and electrical, beauty, toys and gifts.
“These enlarged category teams will be supported by a new retail operations team. This follows the recent appointment of Robbie Feather as managing director of retail and our strong Christmas trading performance.”
