Monsoon has recorded an eight-fold increase in profits and bumper international trading over the year to August 29, 2009.
The 1,000 store retailer saw pre-tax profits soar from £3.9m to £32.9m over the period according to The Daily Telegraph.
Strong sales at Monsoon’s overseas business were also recorded during the period and the retailer plans to open a further 140 stores in territories including stores in North America and Latin America. Monsoon currently has 1,000 stores, 425 of which are in the UK.
Monsoon is also looking to expand its presence in China.
Monsoon was set up in 1972 and founder Peter Simon took the chain private in 2007.
