Habitat is to house an exhibition space at its King’s Road, London store.
The homewares retailer will unveil the initiative, named Platform at Habitat, on May 10.
The gallery space will present exhibitions open to the public during store hours and will provide a space for discussions, talks and other design-related events.
Curated by former store designer Suzanne Trocmé, Platform at Habitat will initiate design ideas and provide networking opportunities for architects and designers.
Habitat managing director Clare Askem said, “We are committed to investing in and developing Habitat, and this initiative re-asserts our position at the forefront of remarkable design.
“We are excited to launch Platform at Habitat and look forward to reflecting the inspiration and creativity through our products and designs.”
The first exhibition will be images from John Pawson’s book A Visual Inventory.
