Scottish retail sales down 2.5% year-on-year in March
According to Scottish Retail Consortium’s (SRC) industry figures, Scottish retail sales slumped 2.5% in March against the same month in 2013 due to the impact of a late Easter this year. In March, the value of food sales in Scotland dropped 3.5% year-on-year, while the value of non-food sales fell 1.8% on a year ago. In the first quarter, the value of food sales in Scotland was down 1.2% on the same period of last year.
Keogh crisps to go on sale in 255 Tesco stores
Irish company The Keogh has inked a deal with Tesco to make it on to the supermarket’s shelves. Under the terms of the agreement, Keogh’s hand-cooked artisan potato crisps will go on sale in 255 UK stores.
Monsoon Accessorize’s head of buying Deepi Sekhon exits
Deepi Sekhon, head of buying at Monsoon Accessorize is quitting the business following six and a half years at the company, Drapers understands. The reasons for her departure are unknown, but Sehkon is not planning to take up a role elsewhere imminently. It is believed that her responsibilities will be shared by the others on her team.
