Nisa boss warns threat and opportunity from Tesco-Booker deal
Nisa chief executive Nick Read has warned that the merger between Tesco and Booker would result in an "enormous amount of pain", The Telegraph reported.
Nick said that the merger could be a threat to Nisa as it would increase Booker’s buying power, increasing range and ability to lower prices.
He also added that there may be an opportunity for Nisa.
Owing to the closure of Tesco store, Nisa and its members could pick up either individual stores or supply contracts to groups of stores.
Ann Summers Ireland reports loss
Ann Summers Ireland Ltd reported loss of €1m (£857,883) despite increase in revenues from €2.38m to €2.4m in the 12 months to the end of June, The Irish Independent reported.
The increase in the revenues was owing to the launch of a fourth store last year on Dublin's Henry Street.
The €1m loss follows a pre-tax profit of €149,269 in 2015, decreasing €1.159m.
Carphone Warehouse in Ireland records pre-tax losses
Carphone Warehouse’s Irish unit reported a pre-tax loss of €11.99m (£10.29m) last year, The Irish Independent reported.
The revenues at the firm decreased from €123.66m to €114.1m in the year to the end of April 30 last.
