French retailer Auchan has created a new concept in Russia called Raduga, which translates as Rainbow.
The stores, which are between 5,000 and 7,000 sq m, will be price-orientated discount superstores. Two stores are planned to open in Kalouga and Penza by the end of the year.
With this new banner, Auchan hopes to reach new customers in Russia, where it currently operates 22 large Auchan hypermarkets, 12 Auchan City superstores, 25 Atak discounters and two Auchan Jardin gardening outlets.
