Sir Stuart Rose ends six-year tenure at M&S

Rose joined the retailer in 2004 to fend off a possible bid from Topshop owner Sir Philip Green

Sir Stuart Rose will step down as chairman of Marks & Spencer today as he hands over the reins to former investment banker Robert Swannell.
