Argos drivers will suspend their Christmas strike action after reaching a new deal on holiday back-pay.
The Wincanton-employed drivers at Sainsbury’s-owned Argos’s flagship national distribution centre were set to strike for 72 hours in the run-up to Christmas.
Following talks between union Unite and logistics company Wincanton, the drivers will vote on an agreed new pay deal.
They had voted by 83% to strike over what they claimed was a failure to pay holiday back-pay for two years, amounting to an average of £700 per driver.
An Argos spokesperson said: “We’re pleased that both sides (Wincanton and Unite) have resolved their issues.
“Once again, we’d like to reassure our customers that it’s business as usual this Christmas at Argos.”
