US electricals giant Best Buy has selected to use a merchandise system for the roll-out of its UK stores.
It has picked a system from Predictix for its new stores both here and in Turkey following a successful deployment in Mexico and China.
It will allow Best Buy to apply company-wide practices while at the same time enabling local teams to tailor their assortment to their particular market, providing visibility throughout the process and connecting to Best Buy’s SAP enterprise application. Other modules beyond planning can be added at a later stage, providing an overview of all merchandising decisions.
Best Buy chief information officer Neville Roberts said the system allowed the company to plan accurately at the lowest possible cost, saying it would “support our international growth with highly sophisticated planning applications”.
Best Buy’s first UK stores in Southampton and Thurrock are due to open this spring.
