Frozen food retailer Farmfoods has rolled out a secure mounting device for Chip and Pin machines as part of its point-of-sales systems upgrade.

The new SafeBase device, developed by marketing consultancy Tailwind Solutions, protects the Chip and Pin machines from wear and tear, as well as shoppers from theft by potential fraudsters.

Farmfoods IT manager Mark Haggerty said: “As the solution was simple to install, we were able to achieve a rapid roll-out.

“There’s also peace of mind in its additional security and future-proofing features - the simple add-on option to move to contactless payment is of particular interest.”
