Big retailers including Tesco, Dixons Carphone and Alibaba have backed all three products pitched today by children at Retail Week Live.
In a session on developing the business leaders of the future, co-ordinated by John Roberts, chief executive of Ao.com, three sets of groups of children pitched new product ideas to judges Roberts, Shop Direct chief executive Alex Baldock and Dunelm Mill and Card Factory chairman Geoff Cooper.
Following the pitches, Roberts said Tesco and Dixons Carphone had agreed to help Snappy Celfie, a selfie stick phone into production; Dunelm and B&M Bargains have offered their support in helping the development of Cookie Mad, a range of cups, and both Hobbycraft and Alibaba are set to help with the sourcing and development of Clock Work, an activity clock aimed at children.
