M&S digital director Marcus East has exited the business, with M&S now recruiting for a director-level position.
It is not known if East is going to another role. He joined M&S in January 2016, having come to retail from a tech background.
He has worked at Apple, was chief information and digital officer at Comic Relief, and spent two years advising Peter Gabriel on a technology venture.
Ricky Wilson, previously head of M&S.com operations, has been promoted to head of online trading and merchandising for clothing and home and will oversee the day-to-day M&S.com operations until a successor is appointed.
Wilson has spent his career at M&S, beginning as a sales assistant in the Eastbourne branch. He will report to customer, marketing and M&S.com executive director Patrick Bosquet-Chavanne.
An M&S spokeswoman said: “We would like to thank Marcus for his contribution and we wish him well for the future.”
