Farfetch has announced a series of leadership changes at luxury brands platform New Guards Group (NGG), which it acquired in 2019, as NGG co-founders Davide De Giglio and Andrea Grilli confirm they will “step down from the business”.
Cristiano Fagnani has been appointed the new chief executive of Off-White, the Italian fashion brand founded by the late Virgil Abloh.
Stephanie Phair has been named the new chair of NGG, with “more than two decades of experience in the luxury fashion industry”.
Fagnani was formerly chief marketing officer for NGG, as well as holding senior positions at Nike. He will maintain his current role as chief executive of NGG’s Reebok business division, NGG++.
Phair’s new role will include supporting the leadership team “towards achieving the goals set out for the business and fostering the continued successful integration with the Farfetch group”. She will also maintain her current role as Farfetch group president.
Farfetch confirmed in a statement that leadership across the other NGG international luxury brands “remains unchanged”.
Farfetch chief executive and chair José Neves said he remained confident in the continued success of the luxury brands platform.
He said: “New Guards has performed extremely well since 2019 and has continued to execute on its strategy with the recent launch of Reebok.
“I would like to thank Davide and Andrea for their dedicated leadership over the past four years, and for building a very strong team of successors to continue driving the strategy and operations of NGG.”
