Retail Week looks ahead to the next seven days, with updates from Sainsbury’s, Eve Sleep, Primark, Topps Tiles and Superdry on the agenda.

Eve Sleep

The mattress specialist reports its first-quarter trading update on Monday, July 2. Eve Sleep more than doubled its revenues last year, its first full year as a listed company. However, pre-tax losses widened 67% to £19m, following a period of aggressive expansion.

Topps Tiles

The tile retailer will post its third-quarter figures on Wednesday, July 4. Topps Tiles’ profits dropped dramatically at the half-year mark due to inflationary pressures despite sales rising over the period. The retailer is currently negotiating with landlords to try and mitigate its property costs.

Sainsbury’s

The grocer will report its first-quarter results on Wednesday. Sainsbury’s last reported its full-year results just days after it was revealed the grocery giant was in merger talks with fellow big four member Asda. The UK’s second-largest grocer said annual underlying pre-tax profits rose 1.4%, while sales rose 9%.

Superdry

The fashion retailer will post its full-year results on Thursday, July 5. In a pre-close update, Superdry said it expected pre-tax profits and sales to both achieve double-digit growth, although fourth-quarter store sales slid 6%.

Primark

Parent company Associated British Foods will reports its third-quarter figures on Thursday. Primark’s global like-for-likes were hit by both warm and cold weather during its half year, but the UK market generated increased comparative sales.
