Apple plans to build new data centre in Denmark

Apple is planning to spend DKK6bn (£707.6m) to build a new data centre in Denmark, The Irish Independent reported.

The site would be the company’s second centre in the country and would run on renewable energy. The first centre is at an advanced stage of construction and is due to open later this year.

Apple's second data centre in Denmark could begin operations in the second quarter of 2019 in Aabenraa, near the German border.

Ex-Tesco executive to join Metcash as CEO

Australian grocery and food wholesaler Metcash has appointed former Tesco executive Jeff Adams as its new boss, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.

Adams will join the company in September and officially step into his role in December, as a replacement for Ian Morrice, who is retiring.

Morrice will advise Adams and the board until June 2018.

Adams will be paid a salary of £1.4m, plus short-term and long-term incentives.
