Argos has signed an eight-year deal with NorthgateArinso to process payroll for the retailer’s 30,000 employees.
The service will be hosted on NorthgateArinso’s platform, but managed by Argos’ own payroll team.
The contract will see the supplier deliver a self service tool that will allow managers in distribution centres, call centres and the head office to process pay adjustments, and monitor absence. A second phase of its deployment will see it rolled out to all stores for store managers’ use.
Home Retail Group head of information systems Stuart Hassall said: “Using self-service technology, managers will have the information to help them make decisions about redeploying staff to neighbouring outlets during busy periods. The tool will keep track of who is working where, and will give control over budgeting for staff working in different stores on multiple contracts.”
