Barclaycard has assembled a team of 200 people to work on the launch of the loyalty programme it is planning to set up in conjunction with retailers.
The team includes marketing, operations and IT staff who have been tasked with creating the platform on which the scheme will run as well as recruit retailers.
The finance company has also signed a deal with payment software provider Welcome Real-time to provide the scheme’s IT infrastructure.
Barclaycard revealed plans to set up a loyalty scheme in March, and said it would launch within 12 months (Retail Week, March 13).
Barclaycard director of payment innovations Dan Salmons said it will be a major leap in terms of loyalty.
