Tesco-owned garden centre chain Dobbies has overhauled its promotional signage system to drive efficiencies in-store.
Dobbies will produce shelf-edge labels and promotional signage centrally, with stores being able to pick the desired items through an in-store user interface.
The system, provided by global IT solutions and services company Episys, will allow more content on signs while maintaining consistent branding. It will also reduce lead times for signage production and cut down on wastage through store-specific batches, leading to a reduction in labour.
Dobbies head of visual merchandising John Hawkins said: “The new system will remove the labour-intensive obstacles we encounter when opening new garden centres, meaning business as usual.”
