Frasers Group has announced plans to open a flagship store in Leicester’s Fosse Park which will combine its Flannels, Sports Direct, Evans Cycles and Game fascias.
The 90,000 sq foot store is set to open in 2021, costing up to £15m and creating 200 jobs for the local area.
50,000 sq foot will be dedicated to a new-concept Flannels store, details of which will be released next month.
The other 40,000 sq foot space will house Sports Direct, including a streetwear concept from USC, an Evans bike department and an e-sports gaming arena from Game.
Frasers head of elevation Michael Murray said “I’m proud to be in a position to bring positive news in what has been a tough six months for retail. This announcement shows our commitment and confidence in our elevation strategy. Now more than ever, we must continue to push boundaries and innovate to stay relevant.”
